What is Mobile Broadband?

Mobile broadband is the term used to describe mobile high-speed internet access using mobile phone networks by a variety of mobile modem or telecommunication devices. 

Originally targeted at the laptop user mobile broadband is accessed by built in 3G hardware, mobile data cards or by plugging in a small USB modem (known as a dongle) into a USB port in your laptop. It automatically installs all the software necessary to make it work 

General activities on the Internet like email, surfing the web and accessing intranets are generally available at faster speeds than dial-up, but not as fast as ADSL or cable.
