Mobile users on their bike to charge phone

Mobile users on their bike to charge phoneNews brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of price comparison for cheap international calls.

Festival organisers seem to be taking gig goers concerns about being communicated seriously, with the announcement that O2 is to set up pedal powered phone chargers at the site of the Wireless Festival.

Mobile phones can be connected to any of the three stationary bikes in place around the festival site.

The phone’s owner can then jump into the seat and pedal away furiously in a bid to charge their handset.

Once charged they can make cheap international phone calls again or use their network provider to find lost friends.

The promotional material for the pedal powered chargers featured photos of band Scroobius Pip and Dan Le Sac. The DJ and poet duo are an odd choice but, since everyone has a mobile phone these days perhaps even these anti-establishment figures will have a go on their bike.

Scroobius Pip and Dan Le Sac found fame on the internet as a video for their song Just a Band was viewed by many, generating an internet grassroots fanbase for them.
